Michael finally called with the good news! The OCS packet is finalized and handed in, all signed and done. Whew! Now we just (hurry up and) wait for them to email him for a board date. The reason it took longer than we’d hoped is that of course he ran into all kinds of snags. The worst one was when he went to pick up a copy of his medical exam for OCS. They had LOST it. This is one of the things about the army that drives me insane. They want you to fill out reams and reams of paperwork and then when you do they lose it and act like they couldn’t care less, then want you to start over. Luckily there was a new doc in charge who has her sh*t together and gave him another physical the next day so he could get his packet in. I’m so glad there are still a few good people in the world. I just hope they don’t decide he is too old, no matter how top-notch he is.
Today’s file is one I need for a layout for last year and the first one where I really used my Wacom Bamboo tablet. I couldn’t find a font that would do what I wanted so I used some letters from a font and just drew the rest. I wanted it to look like a pond and the skate was drawing the letters and border. It took me about a hundred tries to get it right but it was good practice. It’s for one of Kat’s pages but I’m really not in the mood to scrapbook her today – she’s on my nerves. When I woke up this morning (way too early), both bunnies were downstairs. When I warned her of that when she woke up she freaked out trying to go around and pick up all her junk out of the floor, all the while yelling at me for letting them downstairs. Um, you can’t tell a teenager anything but her stuff shouldn’t be on the floor in the first place. The bunnies wanted to go outside with the big cats this morning but Pipkin, Kat’s cat, wouldn’t let them out the door. I guess he figures that if he’s not allowed outside then they aren’t either. It’s still really too cold to let them out anyway, I don’t want them getting sick.
I’m done with the computer for the day! All these file types are making my brain hurt. I made new file types for and uploaded them for 5 files at Cutter’s Market, did today’s file, and three older files from the blog:
tempusfugit, daff1, and trumpet are now in all file types if you need them.

Mary, I love most of your files, but I just wanted to say that I LOVE today’s ice skating one….. my little guy is only 2, so I’m not sure when I will get to use it for me – but I do have a friend whose daughter took lessons for years and I’ll have to cut it for her soon!

Hang in there Mary. It is a real stinker to have to wait on someone else to do their part when you are already at the new stage of life in your own mind. And I had to laugh at your other post about having a wild Saturday night. We have toddlers and we have to laugh at ourselves on the rare date night….we have dinner takes an hour at most…then, what to do? Seems like we always end up at Walmart or something like that. Life is so funny.
